We stayed at home

Percy was a Bucktown dog, through and through. That made him a Wicker Park dog too, since the neighborhoods are attached at the hip.

Percy isn’t sure about the broom Charles Wicker is wielding

Whether it was running around Holstein Park in the middle of snowy winters…

… or eagerly waiting for the Bucktown Dog Parade to start at the Bucktown Fine Arts Festival …

… whether it was patiently waiting for me to get coffee…

… or actually joining me for coffee…

(yes, people thought this was pretty adorable whenever he’d quietly sit across from me at The Wormhole, resulting in many head scratches and pets for him)

… or meeting up with Pesto for a bubble tea…

… or just hanging on The 606…

… he knew this was his home.

Or maybe he just appreciated Big Star Tacos (like most of the city).

Though Percy also appreciated old school Chicago; he had a soft spot for Maurie and Flaurie at Superdawg.

… and University of Chicago in the fall.

Of course he loved being indoors, wrestling with Justin whenever he’d visit…

… or Ryan’s weekly visits.

Plus he got to engage in his absolute favorite activity.

Percy, of course, will forever have a home in my heart…

… even if, when he first arrived, he proudly chewed up one of my hockey skates.
